While looking for opportunities to establish a new band, James worked at the sticker printing factory. Then he put an ad in the newspaper to look for new band members. Apparently at the same time drummer Lars Ulrich also put an ad looking for band members. They even advertise it in the same newspaper, The Recycler. Eventually the two of them began to gather friends and other band members.
